    Default PayPal Memberships Now Available

Hey Folks, we've set up membership payment via PayPal for now. Currently it will go to Jill's paypal account until the account for NQRiders has been finalised, then we'll change it over.

This only works if you have a PayPal account. They also sting us $1.35 for the transaction fee, hence the $26.35 charge for 12 months

If you choose to buy membership, simply go to your User CP and scroll to the bottom, where you'll see "Paid Subscriptions"

Select the $26.35 in the dropdown list, and click the order button. This will take you to the PayPal logon page, and you can continue to purchase the subscription. It will currently show that you are making payments to jilliebean, but once the new bank account comes through, we will transfer all monies received to it, and change the PayPal account.

A couple of things will change once you have paid. Your name will go red, and your title will be Financial Member. You will also have access to a few more things, like a larger PM box, the ability to send to more users than a normal validated user, larger photo album, social group making, customising of the blog and so on. More will be added as time goes on.

We now have live posting available for members. Go to the "Homepage" link in the top left Site Navigation block, and paid members will see live updates as a post is lodged.

    Membership isn't compulsory, at all.

It helps pay for the following upcoming expenses:

    Lodgment of incorporation paperwork ($110)
MQ Affiliation which will give public liability insurance ($250.00 p.y)
    DECAMAG Membership ($500.00 p.y)

Then we'll start looking at merchandising stuff.

Everyone is still welcome to come along whether financial member or not. Once the official coaching rides kick off, as opposed to the unofficial Friday and Tuesday night rides, financial members will have full public liability insurance, others who want to join in on the ride will have to pay a ride fee as determined by Motorcycling Queensland (I think they charge like $1.50 or something). But that's only for coaching rides and official organised events.

    Basically, membership isn't mandatory.

Oh, and click the ads, we get $ for them, which help with the costs of running this... Again not compulsory

I know... but I figure that was like an unspoken rule... I wouldn't be playing fair if i just changed it myself now, would I?

EDIT: How come you're not a 'paid' member yet?... surely 'costs' would count... and probably pay you up for the next decade or 4...

Yer it seems Mods and Admins have issues automatically "upgrading" to Financial Member status... So we'll do that manually...

Oi Bruce i didn't realise we need to be financial members of nqr. I'm not a free loader, just wanna do the right thing. As an unpaid member do I still get to come on rides? Is membership payment for insurence and stuff? I know i havn't been for a tue or fri night ride yet but just wanna make sure it's all ok.
