    Default Garage tips and tricks

Let us all know what little things you have come up with in the way of tips aqnd such for doing things in the shed or garage.
I remember an old fitter telling me that he valve lapping paste every time on the tip of Phillips head screwdrivers..he claimed that he had far fewer rounded problems to deal with.

I have used a little piece of Poly tetra fluoroethelene tape to protect the head of aluminimum or alloy bolts to stop sockets and spanners from marking them.

Another one is to use that grey flashing tape on your rim before taking it to the tyre fitter for tyre replacement. The are less likley to scratch the rim with the tyre machine.

    any more??

yes the valve lapping paste is a good one , i personally just rub the tip of the screw driver through the grinding dust left by the valve grinder.
Another is removing siezed bolts is some times give them a good crack with a hammer & punch works about 70% of the time . If they end up breaking off & have a mig welder just keep building the remins of the bolt up with weld ,till you can grab with vice grips , the heat will loosen the bolt & the weld protruding will give you something to grab with the vice grips, works 99.9% of the time.
Have heaps of others just can't think of them at the moment, Have I told you how to weld up a fuel tank "safely"using a vaccum cleaner??
