    Default WSBK 2010 ride

Getting near that time again, had such a great time last year I recommend to anyone interested in going, it is as much about getting there as the races and then there is the trip home when you can repeat it all again on favourite routes and experiment with some new roads. Basically I am open to discussion about what roads we take in Qld but I have to hook up with crowd from Moree on 21st Feb. Rough itinerary going down might be:
Leave Mackay 19th Feb big day so leave around 7am go via Mt Morgan and then Burnett highway finishing up in Nanango about 1000ks later which gives us a good go at Somerset dam region next day
20th mt Glorious, mt mee etc take our pick like to exit bypassing Brisbane and get onto Tambourine road back over to Canungra, Rathdowney down Lions way stopping for the night at Casino.
21st Casino to Moree via Bruxner highway, free accomodation is being offered depending on numbers
22nd Moree to Woolongong taking in Putty rd fair distance around 700ks maybe free accomodation but we meet up with more riders there so not likely as nudenuts flat would be overflowing
23rd Woolongong to tathra via Macquarie pass and Kangaroo valley then leisurely coast ride down some interesting roads around Tathra
24th Leave via Brown mountain, unsure where at the moment whether we will go via Bombala or back to Jindabyne and down barrys way which I understand is all bitumen now anyway will be stopping somewhere in Vic
25th Finish up in PI, I have accomodation at mates place others have accomodation at Cowes caravan park, anyone who definitely wants to come give us a PM and should be able to fit in at same park but place will be getting booked out as races get nearer.

26th-1st March at races, trip home probably Mt Hotham, Alpine way and surrounding roads getting back to Woolongong eventually and up through Putty again where last year I departed from moree crowd where I then took a myriad of roads across Blue Mts etc. with missus on back and we took about ten days to get home, fantastic..

At the moment Brett has indicated he will be a starter and Rusty maybe if finances allow, be good to get a few starters, can thoroughly recommend it.

I'll be coming but not to the race. Will be heading to Sydney with Brett and Rusty if that's still the plan.

I did the trip in 2007 and reckon it's the best event to go to, however due to Expo commitments, won't be able to make it. Hey Al, if I get some flyers, do you reckon you would have room to take them down and drop them on a few bikes?

Yes Al, my parents 50th wedding Anniversary is the same weekend as the race so our plan at the moment is to join you for the ride down to around Sydney and possibly catch up with you on the way home if schedules match up.

Well my rough plan atm is :
Go with you blokes on the Friday 19th.

Insert various roads and plans TBA here.
Open to suggestions, some of Al's look interesting.
    Doing some research atm.

Brett and Jules are heading to Newcastle for the weekend of the 27/28.

I'll probably make my way home then, to be back in Mackay by Monday March 1.
That will be about ten days on the road, quite enuff for me at this stage.
And yes looking forward to it.

Btw i'm also making a rough plan to do the 4 days of the Australia day weekend.
In and around the northern side of the SEQ corner.
    If any one is interested.
Bit of a lead up run to the next one.
But should be fun in it's own right.
    Weather pending of course.

    Cheers R.

Jules and I talked about this last night,
Cant stretch the budget enough to take in both trips at the moment
plus the Doc has advised that I avoid long periods on the bike for a week or so due to a couple of compressed discs in my neck,

Been looking at a lap around the snowies.
If you are going to head that way from from the se corner of new south.

One of the blokes from Wollongong knows the area like the back of his hand and he will be showing the way on his favourite roads plus we will be going back from PI over high plains country as well, hopefully Brett may come down that way after races/50th wedding anniversary and we can hook up again for ride back through great country, man I am so looking forward to this again!

    Getting close now!

BM has new rear shock and new front tyre.
Topbox has been glued up yet again!
    Pilot finally acquired some draggins.

Navigators have been hard at the maps.
Brett has calculated so many combinations of corners his head exploded last week!
    No, not much an improvement...

Weather continues to be a concern.
That mongrel cyclone that went thru weeks ago.
Dragged the monsoon through down across the country and left the bastard there!

Likely to be plenty of bikes on the move.
The SBK of course. And the Ulysses AGM is on in WA from 8 March.
Some of the locals are heading out this weekend towards that.

Lots of folks doing lots of miles.

Thanks Brett good to see the south of sydney loop in order of appearance.

    Just a few notes.
    Rocky Bilo?
I thought we were going to try
    Calliope Monto

    And sunday should read

    Murwillambah
    Lismore

The trough is moving north atm.
I think we will still cop the rain on friday.

Yeah we can go that way to Monto if ya want..

Its just taken me 3 days to get the damn route into the navigator,,But no worries, I will make it happen...lol

Have a look at your map and see if we really want to go all the way down to Batemans Bay, The only reason I went so far south was to find a place to hook back to Goulburn but we could do a run up through Kangaroo valley then across to Moss Vale and then either slab it or take a rural road to Goulburn via Marulan, I think it chops about 200km or so off that leg.
    I am happy either way

Rocky gladstone is as boring as batshit but no worse than mackay rocky.
Old mate James from rocky suggested the calliope monto rd as newly done up.

Whatever you want to do with the south of sydney loop mate.
    All new roads to me.
