MA’s CEO, David White said that while the decision to omit some
rounds of each Championship was difficult, it was necessary to
safeguard the sport in these uncertain times.
“While we have, so far, avoided the significant economic turmoil
that others currently face, we cannot assume security in these
difficult times,” White said.
“We must look at ways to safeguard our sport, and, following
discussions with Industry Representatives and Event Promoters,
hope that this has been achieved for both the 2009 Motocross and
Superbike Championships.”
