Inane Ramblings

Wow, I made it to 40. When I was 20, I never thought I would survive this long, I had envisaged being a 1km long smear on the road, taken out at high speed by a semi or something. Thankfully that hasn't happened... I wouldn't have met the people that have shone so brightly, and wouldn't have sampled all that I have.

Last week, when in the throws of Ross River Virus, I didn't particularly feel like I was going to survive...

There's an awful lot going on, and I feel I am letting NQ Riders down a bit, because of the other activities, however I am rectifying this with the help of the other great people here, and Burdekin Motorcycles of course

So, what's been keeping me up at night? Well apart from the obvious global financial crisis (is this the new catch cry of the millennium??), Motards.

I was approached by a few racers to discuss setting up a NQ Championship. I can see the benefits, and know it's an awful lot of work, but am a tad concerned that the others who want it won't necessarily step up to the plate. We need to get the association off the ground, like now, however everyone's normal working life interferes when you least want it to.

The feedback from Burdekin Motorcycles and from Futuresport is extremely positive. However we need bodies for the committee, and to become marshalls, time keepers and so on. MQ will also support us as much as they can.

It is the fastest growing sport in NQ relating to bikes, as it's a fairly cheap entry point. It's exciting to watch (here, look at the clip)

Then we need to work on raising $180,000 for surfacing the Proserpine track...

Anyway, I waffle enough, time to go fix more PC's god dammit
